Neobisium (Neobisium) simoni (L. Koch, 1873) View in CoL
Obisium simoni L. Koch, 1873: 54–55 ; Daday 1880: 193; Tömösváry 1882a: 221–222.
Neobisium simoni View in CoL : Szalay 1968: 42.
Neobisium (N.) simoni View in CoL : Červená et al. 2020a: 223, 225.
Remarks: this species was reported by Daday (1880) and Tömösváry (1882a) from the territory of the former Hungarian Kingdom, specifically from the valley of the river Jiu (Zsil), which now belongs to Romania. Daday’s and Tömösváry’s original material is missing from the HNHM. Considering the known occurrence of N. simoni in western Europe (WPC 2023), and the fact that no further material has been found in the Carpathian Basin, the occurrence of N. simoni in Hungary and in Romania is doubtful (as recently also mentioned for Hungary by Červená et al. (2020)).
