Type species. Micospina auribohnorum gen. et sp. nov.
Diagnosis. Small-bodied Calamyzinae , length <4 mm; mature individuals with 16–24 segments. Lateral antennae slightly longer to twice the length of the palps. Postchaetal neuropodial lobe present; slender neurochaetal joint.
Remarks. Lateral antennal length of Micospina gen. nov. is longer in comparison with those of Vigtorniella and Boudemos gen. nov. Similar body shape, coloration, and possession of neuropodial postchaetal lobe is also observed in Boudemos gen. nov. Slender neurochaetal joints are also seen in Vigtorniella ( Table 2).
Etymology. Micospina is a Latin compound name describing ‘gleaming spines’, and refers to the shining notochaetae that adorn the type species. Gender feminine.
