Talanitoides View in CoL n. gen.
Type-species: Talanitoides habesor n. sp.
Etymology. The generic name refers to the close resemblance to Talanites Simon.
Diagnosis. Carapace with short fovea and small subequal eyes; PME nearly circular. Labium appreciably longer than wide. Sternum of ordinary form. Legs with sparse scopulae, without preening comb, trochanters not notched. Opisthosoma with barely visible dorsal scutum in male. Palpus of male with thick mesal embolus, bulky median apophysis and large, remarkable tibial apophysis ( Figs 53, 54 View FIGURES 53, 54 ). Epigynum of female with anterior sclerotic hood and globular spermathecae ( Figs 55, 56 View FIGURES 55, 56 ).
Comments. The male palpal configuration of Talanitoides with the thick embolus resembles Talanites species closely. Talanitoides , however, differs by the rather elongated labium, by the male palpus lacking a membranous conductor and a frontal tegular outgrowth and by bearing a remarkable tibial apophysis unlike the short, retrolaterally directed tibial apophysis of Talanites ( Levy, 1999a, figs 11–13).
