Anacroneuria rotunda View in CoL sp. n.
Figs. 1A–1 View FIGURES 1 E.
Material examined. Holotype male ( CZNC): Brazil ( BRA), Espírito Santo State (ES), Alegre , S20°37'11,4" W41°37'35.4", 04–05.iv.2016, light trap GoogleMaps , FFST. Paratypes ( CZNC): 12 males: BR, ES, Alegre , S20°37'11,4" W41°37'35.4", 04–05.iv.2016, light trap GoogleMaps , FFST.
Description. General color dark brown, almost black. Head brown with M-line distinct, areas of clypeus brown, frons orange ( Fig. 1A View FIGURES 1 ); lappets black; clypeal area setose; post frontal line U-shaped; scape and pedicel dark brown; flagellum dark brown; palpi brownish. Pronotum dark brown almost black with lighter rugosities ( Fig. 1A View FIGURES 1 ). Legs dark brown to black, tibia darker and tarsi lighter. Wing membrane brown, veins dark brown. Cerci dark brown almost black.
Male: Forewing length 11.7–12 mm (n=13). Hammer truncate, wider than long ( Fig. 1 View FIGURES 1 B). Penial armature with a pair of medial distal membranous vesicles ( Figs. 1 View FIGURES 1 C–1E) and apex bottleneck-shaped, opening relatively large; in lateral view, keel convex apically ( Fig. 1 View FIGURES 1 E), dorsal view, U-shaped ( Fig. 1 View FIGURES 1 C); hooks relatively short and flattened, little curved and with acute apices ( Fig. 1 View FIGURES 1 D).
Remarks. The dark color of this species is uncommon in regional species. In dorsal view ( Fig. 1 View FIGURES 1 C) and lateral view ( Fig. 1 View FIGURES 1 D), the penial armature resembles those of A. singela Duarte & Lecci 2016 described from northeastern Brazil. In this species, however, the keel is not convex apically as in the new species. Additionally, A. rotunda is smaller and darker than A. singela.
Etymology. The specific epithet makes reference to the bulged shape of the keel in dorsal and lateral views. The word rotunda derives from the Latin "rotundus," round, spherical or, orbicular.
