Sternaulopius Fischer, 1965: 311 View in CoL ; Wharton, 2006: 317. Type species (monobasic and original designation): Sternulopius bisternaulicus Fischer, 1965 .

Diagnosis. Occipital carina absent dorsal-medially, ventrally widely separate from hypostomal carina; mandible gradually widened basally, without basal tooth; hypoclypeal depression varying from absent to present; pronope present or absent; precoxal sulcus wide and crenulate anteriorly, absent posteriorly, sternaulus well-developed ventrally, widely crenulate, broadly connected to anterior crenulation of mesopleuron and absent posteriorly; pleural sulcus crenulate; propodeum coarsely and rugosely carinate; pterostigma of fore wing triangular, second submarginal cell rather long, m-cu of fore wing postfurcal, first subdiscal cell closed; dorsope of first tergite present or absent, second and third tergites normal or third tergite convex in lateral view; hypopygium of female membranous medially and apically ( Figs 25, 26 View FIGURE 23–26 ).

Biology. According to Wharton (2006), the hosts of S. bisternaulicus are larvae from species Ceratitis anonae Graham, C. fascioentris (Bezzi) of genus Ceratitis MacLeay, 1829 and Trirhithrum meladiscum Munro from genus Trirhithrum Bezzi, 1918 .
