Type species: Plocamione dirrhopalina Topsent, 1927 (by monotypy).
Definition. Raspailiidae with an axially or basally compressed microcionid skeleton of which the axial skeleton is formed by acanthostrongyles or acanthotylostrongyles ( Hooper 2002).
