Note: This name has been discussed by Eggleston (in Rhodora 10: 78. 1908), Sargent (in Rhodora 11: 182. 1909) and Palmer (in J. Arnold Arb. 19: 287. 1938), who proposed it should be treated as a nomen ambiguum. It appears to be a candidate for rejection.
