Type Locality: Senegal, Dialakoto (= Dialocote).
Vernacular Names: Gambian Slit-faced Bat.
Distribution: Senegal, Gambia, Guinea Bissau, Guinea, Ghana, Côte d’Ivoire, Togo, Benin, Burkina Faso, Nigeria. A record from Sierra Leone is in error (J. Fahr, pers. comm.).
Conservation: IUCN 2003 and IUCN / SSC Action Plan (2001) – Lower Risk (lc).
Discussion: thebaica species group. Reviewed by Van Cakenberghe and De Vree (1998).
