2. Myrmica gracilescens HNS .
M. rufo-ferruginea, gracileseens; lævissima et politissima.
Worker. Length 1 line. Rufo-ferruginous, smooth and shining; the tarsi and the basal joints of the flagellum pale rufo-testaceous; the club of the antennæ 3-jointed; the antennae nearly as long as the body. The metathorax with two short acute spines. Abdomen ovate; the basal node of the peduncle petiolated, and elevated above the second node, which is ovate-eonical, the first being conical.
Hab. Makassar.
This elegant little ant closely resembles the Myrmica lippula HNS of Europe.
