Molobratia youngi Geller-Grimm View in CoL
( Figs 26, 27)
Molobratia youngi Geller-Grimm, 2005: 581 View in CoL .
Medium sized dark reddish flies, 14 mm. Two of the five species recorded from Japan, Molobratia kanoi Hradský, 1980 View in CoL and M. nipponi Hradský, 1980 View in CoL closely resemble M. youngi View in CoL in external characters (face, leg color, length of bristles on fore and hind tibiae) and in the male genitalia. The insertion of M. youngi View in CoL into the existing two keys for external characters and male genitalia ( Nagatomi et. al. 1989: 968) distinguishes them ( Geller-Grimm 2005).
A: Key to external characters of Molobratia ( Nagatomi et. al. 1989). Molobratia youngi inserted into couplet 4.

M. nipponi Hradský - Wing also anterior brownish tinged. Tergites l and 5–7 black, 2–4 reddish with black spots at posterior angels; spots of silvery tomentum at posterior angles of tergites 4–6 ................... M. youngi Geller-Grimm
B: Key to the male genitalia of Molobratia ( Nagatomi et. al. 1989). Molobratia youngi inserted into couplet 1.
