Type Locality: Colombia, Antioquia Dept., Medellin.
Vernacular Names: White-tailed Olalla Rat.
Synonyms: Olallamys apolinari (J.A. Allen 1914) .
Distribution: NW and C Colombia, west of the Cordillera Central; occurs up to 3,000 m, often in dense bamboo thickets ( Eisenberg, 1989).
Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (nt).
