Geochus posticalis Broun 1913: 121 . Type locality: Wairiri, Kaikoura.
Type Depository. BMNH: HT .
Distribution. New Zealand (KA).
Remarks. Broun based the description on a single specimen that we confirmed as the holotype.
This species forms a species group with G. variegatus . Both species have evenly sized elytral tubercles, which are confined to a transverse line across the top of the elytral declivity, and a short subapical carina on the midline of the pronotum.
