GeOchUs cOnvexUs Broun, 1921 ( Fig. 17 View Fig )

Geochus convexus Broun 1921: 570 . Type locality: Mt. Te Aroha .

Type Depository. BMNH : LT, 2 PLT.

Distribution. New Zealand (CL).

Remarks. Broun named this species based on three specimens he collected from leaf litter. All were located in the Broun collection (BMNH): one we designate as the lectotype to stabilize the epithet, with the two remaining specimens becoming paralectotypes. For consistency with the numbering in Broun’s description, an additional specimen located among the syntype series bearing the same labels was not considered a paralectotype.

We place this species into a species group with G. similis .

Type Material Examined. Lectotype, here designated ( BMNH): card-mounted, “4117. [in Broun’s hand]// New Zealand. [red underline] Broun Coll. Brit. Mus. 1922-482.//Te Aroha Novr 1910. [in Broun’s hand]// Geochus convexus . [in Broun’s hand]” . Paralectotypes ( BMNH): 2, same as lectotype but with different date [not recorded] .
