Taxonomy: The species is listed by Wood and Bright (1992) under Xyleborus , but it has the morphological characters of Cyclorhipidion , and is here transferred to that genus.

Biology: Recorded from Quercus (Fagaceae) ( Beeson 1930), and now from Castanopsis . It is probably closely associated with Fagaceae .
