Other distribution: India (W. Bengal), Indonesia (Java), Malaysia (W.). The record from the Solomon Is. ( Bigger 1988) may be a misidentification. The species also occurs in Nepal (R. A. Beaver, unpublished record). (4)

Biology: The only recorded hosts are two species of Shorea (Dipterocarpaceae) ( Beeson 1930, Browne 1961a). The gallery system branches in three dimensions, and has brood chambers in the horizontal plane ( Browne 1961a).
