Taxonomy: The species is listed by Wood and Bright (1992) in Xyleborus , but it has the characters of Euwallacea Hopkins (see Hulcr & Cognato 2010a), and is here transferred to that genus.
Biology: Recorded from Schefflera (Araliaceae) by Kalshoven (1959).
