Etymology. ReferS to the blue color SpotS and bandS over the body of the new SpecieS (from Latin: caeruleobluiSh and macula— StainS, SpotS) ( Fig. 1A View FIGURE 1 ).
Remarks. Lepidocyrtoides caeruleomaculatus sp. nov. reSembleS Lepidocyrtoides villasboasi comb. nov. ( Arlé & GuimarãeS, 1981) by body with blue SpotS and bandS, Ant IV annulated and without apical bulb, reduced dorSal chaetotaxy of head and Th III, Abd II–III with 3 and 1 median mac reSpectively; ungueS with apical tooth, unguiculuS I truncate and II–III acuminate, and dorSal denS with proximal rowS of unilaterally ciliate chaetae. However, L. caeruleomaculatus sp. nov. differS from thiS SpecieS by diStinct color pattern with Scattered SpotS, while L. villasboasi comb. nov. haS tranSverSe bandS of dark blue on Th III–Abd III and Abd IV poSteriorly ( FigS 1A, H View FIGURE 1 ). The chaetotaxy of L. caeruleomaculatus sp. nov. differS by abSence of Pp5 mac on head (preSent in L. villasboasi comb. nov.), baSomedian labial field with chaetae e, l1–2 Smooth and R preSent (E, L1–2 ciliate and R abSent in L. villasboasi comb. nov.), and ventral head devoid of Spine-like mic on anterior poStlabial region (preSent in L. villasboasi comb. nov.). Th II differS by 14–15 anterior mac and 1 poSterior meS (22–24 anterior and 5 poSterior mac in L. villasboasi comb. nov.), Abd I without mac (1 in L. villasboasi comb. nov.), and Abd IV with 13 median mac (16–20 in L. villasboasi comb. nov.). Other differenceS of L. caeruleomaculatus sp. nov. are trochanteral organ with about 107 Spine-like chaetae (48 in L. villasboasi comb. nov.); and manubrial plate with 4 blunt mac (2 in L. villasboasi comb. nov.).
