Remarks. Lepidocyrtoides tapuia comb. nov. reSembleS L. fasciatus ( WomerSley, 1934) from QueenSland, AuStralia by reduced body pigmentS, dorSal head with 3 median and 6 Sutural mac, baSomedian labial fieldS with chaetae M1–2, Th II with about 10–12 poSterior mac, and unguiculuS acuminate (See YoShii & GreenSlade 1994: 13). However, L. tapuia comb. nov. differS from thiS SpecieS by dorSal chaetotaxy of Th II with 1 (m4) lateromedian mac (abSent in L. fasciatus ), and Th II–Abd III with 5, 1, 4 and 2 median mac, while in L. fasciatus iS 7, 0, 3 and 1. Other differenceS of L. tapuia comb. nov. iS Ant IV without apical bulb (preSent in L. fasciatus ), prelabral chaetae Smooth (ciliate in L. fasciatus ), and manubrial plate with 2 blunt mac (3 in L. fasciatus ).
