Remarks. Ectoedemia heringella has a more eastern Mediterranean distribution, from Corsica and Italy east to Cyprus. This first record from mainland France in its easternmost department, in the Estérel massif, is adjacent to the main area of distribution. Recently E. heringella was recorded from Britain, probably as an introduction ( Ellis & Honey 2003).
