Remarks. A very common species throughout France, both on Corylus and Carpinus (elsewhere also found on Ostrya ). Mines on Corylus recorded from Corsica as Nepticula sp. are also interpreted as this species. S. microtheriella is parthenogenetic, but males have been found in a few cases (not yet in France).
