Fam. SALTICIDAE View in CoL View at ENA
Aelurillus luctuosus (Lucas, 1846)
Salticus affinis: O. Pickard-Cambridge 1872: 322 .
Notes. It was reported from the "plains of the Jordan ". Prószyṅski (2003: 37) doubted the occurrence of this species in Israel, thought to be reported by Bodenheimer (1937) only, and the first to report this species from Israel was O. Pickard-Cambridge (1872).
Aelurillus monardi (Lucas, 1846)
Salticus monardi: O. Pickard-Cambridge 1872: 322 .
Notes. The only record from Israel (plains of the Jordan) is based on a juvenile specimen and may refer to other congeners. Prószyṅski (2003) does not mention this species in his monograph devoted to the Salticidae View in CoL of Levant.
Aelurillus v-insignitus ( Clerck, 1757) View in CoL
Salticus quinquepartitus: O. Pickard-Cambridge 1872: 322 .
Notes. The finding of this species in the area of Mt. Hermon (near Rûkleh) seems based on a misidentification. Prószyṅski (2003: 20) notes unambiguously that this species is still unknown in Israel.
Euophrys frontalis (Walckenaer, 1802)
Euophrys frontalis: Amitai 1987: 182 View in CoL .
Note. Listed from conuntry by Amitai (1987) only and seems based on misidentification.
Neaetha membrosa (Simon, 1868)
Neaetha membranosa: Strand 1915: 171 .
Notes. The only record from Israel ("Jaffa–Rehoboth") seems based on the misidentification. Prószyṅski (2003) does not mention this species in his monograph devoted to the Salticidae View in CoL of Levant.
Phintella castriesiana (Grube, 1861)
Salticus multipunctatus: O. Pickard-Cambridge 1872: 323
Note. The only record from Israel (Nazareth) seems based on the misidentification. Prószyṅski (2003) does not mention this species in his monograph devoted to the Salticidae View in CoL of Levant.
Salticus fasciatus: O. Pickard-Cambridge 1872: 322 .
Phlegra fasciata: Shulov 1950: 51 View in CoL ; Amitai 1987: 184, f. 168 (♀).
Notes. The occurrence of this species in Israel (Jericho, Jerusalem, north of the country) seems based on the misidentification. Prószyṅski (2003) does not mention this species in his monograph devoted to the Salticidae View in CoL of Levant.
Phlegra lineata (C.L. Koch, 1846)
Salticus lineatus: O. Pickard-Cambridge 1872: 323
Notes. The only record from Israel (plains of the Jordan) seems based on the misidentification. Prószyṅski (2003) does not mention this species in his monograph devoted to the Salticidae View in CoL of Levant.
