Morphometrics: Valves 10–11 (11–13) μm long, 5–6 (5–7) μm wide, transapical striae 14–15 (12–15) in 10 μm.

Remarks: This taxon was found in many warmer coasts, the southwestern Atlantic Ocean of Brazil ( Fernandes et al. 1999, Fernandes et al. 2002), the Seto Inland Sea of Japan ( Takai et al. 2004), the mangroves of Fujian in China ( Chang-Ping et al. 2005), and the Baja California Peninsula, Mexico ( Siqueiros-Beltrones & López-Fuerte 2006). The specimens collected from Kenia, Fiji Islands, South Africa and the Caribbean Sea are illustrated in Witkowski et al. (2000). It is rarely epiphytic in the pseudo-lagoons of the Seogwipo coast in Jeju Island, represents a new record for South Korea.
