Basionym: Amphora intermedia Lewis.

Type locality: Atlantic , New Jersey .

Reference: Lobban et al. 2012, p. 304, pl. 63, figs 3, 4.

Morphometrics: Valves 52 (62–63) μm long, 20 (25) μm wide, and transapical striae 16 (14–16) in 10 μm.

Remarks: Auricula intermedia was reported from the tropical regions, Brazil ( Kutner 1961), Guam in western Pacific Ocean ( Lobban et al. 2012), Egypt in the Red Sea area ( Gerasimiuk & Kovtun 2014), the Black Sea in Ukraine ( Nevrova 2014), and the coast of Yukatán in Mexico ( López-Fuerte et al. 2017). It is distributed from tropical to temperate regions. This taxon was found twice only on a rock pool of the Seogwipo coast in Jeju Island, and represents a new record for South Korea.
