Based on API 20NE, positive for glucose fermentation, esculin hydrolysis and gelatinase, but negative for nitrate reduction, indole production, arginine dihydrolase, urease, and β galactosidase. Does not utilize Dglucose, Larabinose, Dmannose, Dmannitol, N acetylglucosamine, Dmaltose, potassium gluconate, capric acid, adipic acid, malic acid, trisodium citrate, and phenylacetic acid. Oxidase activity is positive. Strain J27 (= NIBRBA0000) was isolated from seawater, Gwangyang, Korea.
