Description of Staphylococcus nepalensis CNS View in CoL 5-1

Cells are Gram-staining-positive, non-flagellated, nonpigmented, and coccoid­shaped. Colonies are circular, entire, smooth and beige colored after 2 days of incubation on NA at 30°C. Based on API 20NE, positive for nitrate reduction, urease, esculin hydrolysis, and β ­galactosidase, but negative for indole production, glucose fermentation, arginine dihydrolase and gelatinase. DGlucose, L­arabinose, D­mannose, D­mannitol, N ­acetyl­glucosamine, D­maltose and potassium gluconate are utilized. Strain CNS5­1 (= NIBRBA0000113957) was isolated from a soil sample, Anseong, Korea.
