Diagnosis. Males of Miagrammopes guttatus can be distinguished from other species of this genus by its median apophysis I with a large base, tapering gradually towards the apex and ending in a slightly curved tip; median apophysis II smaller than the median apophysis I, and curved at terminal end ( Fig. 2 View FIGURES 1 – 2 ); and by the convex cymbium, in form of a wide leaf presenting two thick setae on its anterior margin ( Fig. 1 View FIGURES 1 – 2 ). Females are similar to M. luederwaldti (see Mello-Leitão, 1925, Fig. 34) in having an epigynum weakly sclerotized and the presence of an anterior median rim, but differ by having the anterior median rim separated from the epigynum’s anterior margin by a distance 2.5 times (equivalent to the diameter of the spermathecae) and by the absence of a posterior epyginal projection. Internally the epigynum is distinguished from the remaining Miagrammopes by thin, long and sinuous copulatory ducts, which are twisted on the apex near to the connection with the oval spermathecae ( Figs. 3−6 View FIGURES 3 – 6 ).
Male (IBSP 150939): Total length: 6.49. Coloration: median dark line extending from clypeus margin to thoracic furrow. Two black lateral stripes, one on each side of carapace, extending from the ocular tubercle to the posterior margin of the carapace. Anterior depression of the carapace darkish. Eyes outline black. Chelicerae and legs pale yellow. Carapace measurements: 1.48 in length, 1.12 in width, with irregular pentagon shape, longer than wide. Shallow thoracic furrow. Clypeus with less obvious laterals depressions extending from its anterior margin to the anterior region of the ocular tubercle. Ocular tubercles with deep depressions on posterior margin limiting eyes extension. Median eyes depressions present. Eyes: PLE-PLE: 1.40 PME-PME: 1.01 PME −PLE: 0.18, procurved eye row on tubercle. Abdomen length 3.27, width 0.84, cylindrical and tapered from the middle third to the insertion of the spinnerets. Coloration: two black stripes and irregular white spots dispersed throughout the length. Lateral sides of the abdomen darkish. Three pairs of black dots dorsally, on the anterior third end, on the middle third, and on the posterior third. Ventral abdomen darkish with irregular white spots less obvious. Legs measurements: I: femur 2.61/ patella 0.34/ tibia 1.49/ metatarsus 1.59/ tarsus 0.35/ total 6.38. II: 1.13/ 0.32/ 0.82/ 0.81/ 0.37/ 3.45. Spines: tibia I with 9−11 dorsal spines arranged in a line throughout the segment, the three first spines longer; 5−5 prolateral spines on the anterior third and 8−9 retrolateral spines on the middle third ( Fig. 8−9 View FIGURES 7 – 11 ). Metatarsus I with 9−10 prolateral spines and 2−2 retrolateral spines ( Fig. 10 View FIGURES 7 – 11 ). Tibia of palp with 4 long and distal macrosetae on the apex ( Fig. 1−2 View FIGURES 1 – 2 ).
Female (IBSP 150939): Total length 4.75. Coloration as in male, except for the anterior depression of the carapace not darkish, abdomen with irregular white spots dispersed throughout its length, sides and ventral abdomen yellowish brown.
Carapace length 1.72, width 1.21, as in male except by the more obvious laterals depressions on the clypeus and on the posterior margin of the ocular tubercle.
Eyes: PLE −PLE: 0.120 PME −PME: 0.87 PME −PLE; 0.12. Abdomen length 4.77, width 1.10. Legs measurements: I: femur 3.61/ patella 0.81/ tibia 2.85/ metatarsus 2.54/ tarsus 0.59/ total 10.4. Legs I −III with spines lacking. Metatarsus and tarsus IV with 16 and 13 ventral spines, respectively, arranged in a line extending throughout the length ( Fig. 7 View FIGURES 7 – 11 ). Epigynum weakly sclerotized. Copulatory openings on the posterior margin and separated from each other by one diameter. Spermathecae separated from each other by less than one diameter. Fertilization ducts thin, curved towards the middle region of the epigynum ( Fig. 5−6 View FIGURES 3 – 6 ).
Distribution. Brazil: Pará, Minas Gerais, Espírito Santo, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Paraná, Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul. Argentina: Misiones ( Fig. 12 View FIGURE 12 ).
