Frisilia Walker, 1864 View in CoL
Frisilia Walker, 1864: 795 View in CoL . Type species: Frisilia nesciatella Walker, 1864 View in CoL .
Tipasa Walker, 1864: 804 . Type species: Tipasa basaliella Walker, 1864 .
Macrernis Meyrick, 1887: 275 View in CoL . Type species: Macrernis heliapta Meyrick, 1887 View in CoL .
Generic characters. Antenna longer than forewing. Labial palpus in male with long scale tufts projecting foreward; second palpomere elongate, concave or straight subbasally and arched medially on dorsal side, obtusely arched subbasally and concave inward medially on ventral side; third palpomere needle-like or spiniform, concealed in scale tufts of second palpomere ( Figs 2‒3 View FIGURES 2‒5 ). Labial palpus in female with second palpomere thickened by long rough scales; third palpomere slender, nearly as long as second palpomere ( Figs 4‒5 View FIGURES 2‒5 ).
Forewing narrowly elongate, termen smoothly oblique or concave; ground color yellowish, usually with a dark colored discal and discocellular stigmata; in male forewing with a groove running from base along fold to tornus (subdorsal groove). Hindwing trapezoidal. Abdominal tergites without zones of spiniform setae.
Diagnosis. Frisilia can be distinguished from other genera in Lecithocerinae by the specialized labial palpi as stated above, and the male forewing with a groove.
Notes. No diagnostic characters are found in the male and female genitalia to distinguish Frisilia from other genera of the subfamily Lecithocerinae .
