Material examined. 1 Female, (TL: 42mm), 10 Jul. 2014, Calhau de São Pedro Island-SC, 22m, 27°16'19.3''S and 48°19'86.0''W, between rocks, in a cavity with difficult access ( LCP /UFSC-096).
Material observed. 2 individuals, 0 9 Apr. 2014, Aranhas Island-SC, 6,6m, S 27°29'19.9'' W 48°21'90.1'' in different crevices well hidden, one of them in an inaccessible crevice with large rocks blocking access; 1 individual, 10 Jul. 2014, Calhau de São Pedro Island-SC, 22m, 27°16'19.3''S and 48°19'86.0''W, between rocks, in cavity with difficult access.
Distribution. Originally from the Mediterranean. Amphi-Atlantic, including Portugal, Azores, Cameroon, Madeira, and Congo in the East Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico in West Atlantic. According with Calado (2008) specimens of this species have been collected in Brazilian Waters and have already entered the aquarium trade in American markets.
Remark. The species record is now certain for the Brazilin coast. The present record (27o S and 48o W) extends the species range 9.000 km from its previous West Atlantic position in Gulf of Mexico (30o N and 90o W).
