Type Locality: Fiji Isls, Viti Levu.
Vernacular Names: Fijian Long-tailed Fruit Bat.
Distribution: Vanuatu (= New Hebrides), Fiji Isls. A record from the Caroline Isls is probably incorrect (K. Helgen, pers. comm.).
Conservation: IUCN / SSC Action Plan (1992) and IUCN 2003 – Vulnerable.
Discussion: Apparently does not include neocaledonica , here considered a distinct species following Flannery (1995 b).
