Botys chlorophanta Butler, 1878: 58 , pl. 39, fig. 8. TL: Yokohama.
Host plants. Betulaceae ( Corylus heterophylla Fisch. ex Trautv. ), Ebenaceae ( Diospyros kaki Thunb. ), Fagaceae ( Castanea mollissima Blume , Quercus spp. , such as Q. acutissima Carruth. ), Juglandaceae ( Juglans cordiformis Maxim. ), Platanaceae ( Platanus orientalis L.), Rosaceae ( Prunus spp. , such as P. serrulata Lindl. f. spontanea (E.H.Wilson) Chin S.Chang), Salicaceae ( Populus nigra var. italica Koehne ), Scrophulariaceae ( Paulownia tomentosa (Thunb.) Steud. ), Sterculiaceae ( Firmiana simplex (L.) W.F.Wight), Styracaceae ( Styrax obassis Siebold et Zucc. ) ( Bae & Paek, 2006; Bae et al., 2008; Li et al., 2009; Heo, 2012; Yamanaka & Sasaki, 2013).
Distribution. Korea, Southeast Russia, China, Taiwan, Japan, Europe, Sri Lanka ( Inoue, 1982; Bae, 2001; Bae & Paek, 2006; Bae et al., 2008; Byun et al., 2009; Li et al., 2009; Yamanaka & Sasaki, 2013).
Remarks. South (1901) considered Botys chlorophanta as a junior synonym of Dichocrocis nelusalis (nilusalis misspelled) from Korea. Currently, these are considered as separated species. Therefore, the first report of Korean Patania chlorophanta is uncertain.
