Note: Thyreocephalus elegantissimus was described on a female from Danum Valley, Sabah ( BORDONI 2012). It differs from the congeners and from the known species of Sabah [ T. laticeps (ERICHSON 1839) , T. albertisi (FAUVEL 1895) , T. bipunctatus BORDONI 2002 ] in shape of body, dimension, colouration, puncturation. The study of the male confirm the validity of the species and that it differs from other Thyreocephalus also in the particular shape of the aedeagus that is very big (3,25 mm long), with small median lobe and short parameres; inner sac tape-like, narrow and long, covered with fine spinules and scales ( Fig. 3 View Figs 1-3 ). Tergite and sternite of the male genital segment as in Figs 1- 2 View Figs 1-3 . The male differs from the female only by the jast larger body.
