Distribution. First record of Trachonurus sulcatus in the WSA. Collected from off Bahia, Espírito Santo and Rio de Janeiro, at depths from 875 to 1680 m. It was described from the Gulf of Mexico (28°38’ N, 87°02’ W), and is known from about 10° N to 40° N in both western and eastern Atlantic (Cohen et al. 1990).
