Distribution. Collected from off Espírito Santo and Rio de Janeiro, at depths from 192 to 632 m. Merluccius hubbsi was described from off Buenos Aires, Argentina, and is known from 21°30’ S to 49° S, southern Brazil to Argentina ( Cousseau 1993; Lloris et al. 2003; Menezes 2003c).
