Redescription. Male. Integument dark brown. Pubescence predominantly grayish. Dark-brown to black pubescence covering antennae, two rounded lateral spots on pronotum, one near anterior margin and the other on posterior margin; on elytra a large trapezoidal median macula, extending from suture to external margin, and irregular spot on apical third. Distal third of tibiae and tarsi covered with black pubescence. Ventral surface covered with sparse gray pubescence.

Antennae reaching elytral apices at tip of antennomere VI. Prothorax trapezoidal, with obtuse prominence at beginning of posterior third. Pronotum with single line of punctures near posterior margin. Elytral apices obliquely truncate; external angle slightly projecting. Punctures large, scattered over entire surface. Apical urotergite rounded at tip; urosternite semicircularly emarginate. Metatarsomere I as long as II=III.

Measurements (mm), male. Total length, 5.0–7.2; prothorax length, 0.9–1.2; prothorax width, 1.0–1.9; elytral length, 3.5–5.4; humeral width, 1.9–2.6.

Material examined. MEXICO, Veracruz: 16 km W Santecomapan, 2 males, 10–13.IV.1993, J. E. Wappes col. ( ACMT). Los Tuxtlas Biological Station, male, 17–22.V.1983, C. W. & L. O’Brien col. ( ACMT). GUATEMALA, Escuintla: 4 km N Palin, male, 21.VI.1966, J. M. Campbell col. ( MNRJ).

Distribution. Described from Mexico, Veracruz: Córdoba; and distributed from Mexico to Honduras.
