Redescription. Male. Integument brownish. Pubescence predominantly dark brown except for pale grayish maculae, as follows: head with patch surrounding posterior margin of upper lobes of eyes. Pronotum with three longitudinal lines, narrowest line in middle and others near lateral margins. Elytra with longitudinal lines interrupted by dark brownish patches ( Fig.17 View FIGURES 13 – 17. 13 ). Ventral surface of body covered with grayish pubescence. Legs with yellowish pubescence.

Antennae reaching apices of elytra at distal extremity of antennomere VI. Prothorax with lateral sides regularly rounded. Pronotum with single row of punctures near posterior border. Apices of elytra transversely truncate, external angle projecting in acute short spine. Punctures dense on anterior ¾, larger near suture. Fifth urotergite transversely truncate at apex; fifth urosternite slightly semicircularly emarginate. Metatarsomere I = II+III.

Female. Antennae reaching apices of elytra at distal extremity of antennomere VII; fifth urotergite slightly projecting beyond apex of elytra, distal extremity rounded; fifth urosternite transversely truncate.

Measurements (mm), male/female. Total length, 6.0–6.8/5.4–6.0; prothorax length, 1.3–1.4/1.0–1.3; prothorax width, 1.8–1.9/1.3–1.5; elytral length, 4.1–5.0/3.7–4.3; humeral width, 2.0–2.3/1.6–2.0.

Specimens examined. COSTA RICA, Cartago: Turrialba, male, 13–14.VIII.1968, D. H. Habeck col. (MNRJ). PANAMA, Panama: Cerro Azul (Altos de Pacoras), 3 males, 2 females, 4–10.I.1994, J. E. Wappes col. (ACMT, male & female MNRJ).
