Material examined. CHINA: Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region: 13, Mohe Town, Gongliu County (43°28ʹN, 82°13ʹE), 1100 m, 8.vi.1994, leg. Xincheng An, 13, 500 m, 29.vii.1994, leg. Houhun Li and Hongyan Qin; 13 Shirengou, Miquan City (43°58ʹN, 87°41ʹE), 1121 m, 11.viii.2007, leg. Xinpu Wang.
Diagnosis. Adult ( Fig. 5 View FIGURE 2 – 11 ) with wingspan 12.0−15.0 mm. Cochylidia heydeniana is very similar to C. subroseana roseotincta ( Razowski, 1960) , but C. heydeniana can be distinguished by the forewing ground color yellowish white, and the median process of transtilla rounded apically in the male genitalia ( Fig. 15 View FIGURE 12 – 17 ). In C. subroseana roseotincta the forewing is yellowish brown from the base to the inner margin of the median fascia and ochreous tinged with grayish black from outer margin of the median fascia to termen, and in the male genitalia the median process of the transtilla has two tiny apical teeth.
Distribution. China (Xinjiang), Mongolia, Korea, Japan, Russia, Europe. Hostplants. Erigeron sp. and Solidago sp. ( Kawabe 1982).
