Material examined. CHINA: Sichuan Province: 13, Zhubalong Town, Batang County (30°00ʹN, 99°09ʹE), 2500 m, 10.vii.2001, leg. Houhun Li and Xinpu Wang. Gansu Province: 13, Bifenggou, Wen County, 860 m, 14.vii.2005, leg. Haili Yu.
Diagnosis. Adult ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 – 11 ) with wingspan 14.0 mm. The male genitalia of this species are similar to those of C. contumescens ( Meyrick, 1931) ( Fig. 12 View FIGURE 12 – 17 ), but in C. altivaga the length of the valva is about 1.5 times its width, the phallus bears a spine at the distal 3/5, and the cornuti are a dense bundle of thin spines. In C. contumescens , the length of valva is about 2.0 times its width, the phallus bears a spine at the distal 1/4, and the cornuti consist of three curved, thick spines.
Distribution. China (Gansu, Sichuan), Nepal.
Note. This species is recorded for the first time in China.
