Rhynchobatus australiae Whitley 1939 — Bottlenose wedgefish

Status at New Ireland. First recorded from New Ireland by White et al. (2018: 203). A specimen observed underwater at Lissenung Island by Dietmar Amon; another photographed in Kavieng District by D. Borcherds. Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: Philippines south to northern Australia.

Found mostly inshore, 0–60 m depth. Marine.
