Status at New Ireland. New record, based on NTUM material (1 specimen, CP4428-2, northeast of New Hanover; 1 specimen, St. CP 4449-18, north of New Hanover ).

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1.—General distribution: Circumglobal in tropical and temperate seas, but not in northeastern Pacific. Benthopelagic, 290–2400 m depth. Marine.
