Status at New Ireland. New record, based on NTUM material (1 specimen, St. CP 4436-14, north of Kavieng ).

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: Circumglobal in tropical and temperate seas, except for North Atlantic. Bathypelagic, 500–2700 m depth. Marine.
