Status at New Ireland. New record, based on NTUM material (1 specimen, St. CP 4428-14, northeast of New Hanover; 2 specimens, St. CP 4436-6-7, north of Kavieng; 1 specimen, St. CP 4441-18, northeast of New Hanover ; 3 specimens, St. CP 4449-8-10, north of New Hanover ).

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1, 2.—General distribution: Indo-West Pacific: South Africa and Madagascar east to Philippines and New Guinea, north to southern Japan, south to northern Australia. Bathydemersal, 786–1500 m depth. Marine.
