Status at New Ireland. New record, based on a specimen photographed at Lissenung Island by Dietmar Amon on 20 Aug. 2008.

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: Maldives east to Marshall Islands. Found in coral reefs, usually associated with Halimeda or coralline algae, 0–25 m depth. Marine.
