Status at New Ireland. New record, based on NTUM 12362 (1 specimen, 33.8 mm SL, St. CP 4259-35, Gazelle Channel).

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: Circumglobal in tropical and warm temperate oceans. Benthic, on the continental slope, 150–2000 m depth. Marine.
