Cymbacephalus beauforti (Knapp 1973) —Crocodile flathead ( Fig. 47 )

Status at New Ireland. New record, based on specimens photographed at Lissenung Island by Dietmar Amon on 11 Oct. 2007 and 1 May 2009; another photographed at St. KVG09 (Bismarck Sea side of southeastern Kavieng District) by Serge Andréfouët on 15 Aug. 2014 .

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: Indonesia east to Palau and Yap, north to Ryukyu Islands, south to New Caledonia. Benthic on sand or coral rubble in coral reef, 1–12 m depth. Marine.
