Taeniamia macroptera View in CoL (Cuvier [ex Kuhl & Hasselt] in Cuvier & Valenciennes 1828)—Duskytail cardinalfish

Status at New Ireland. New record, based on a video of a specimen taken at Anelaua Island, off eastern New Hanover, at 3–16 m depth, St. KR98, in 2014 (identified by Barry C. Russell), and another video taken in Albatross Passage, southwestern Kavieng District, 3–13 m depth, St. KD83, in 2014.

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1, 2.—General distribution: Sri Lanka east to Samoa and New Caledonia, north to Yaeyama Islands. Aggregating above branching corals in sheltered coral reefs, 2–20 m depth. Marine.
