Mulloidichthys flavolineatus View in CoL (Lacepède [ex Commerson] 1801)—Yellowstripe goatfish

Status at New Ireland. New record, based on specimens observed by Jeff Kinch during CFMDP Survey at Kavieng fish market in 2004–2005, and by Barry C. Russell on 28 June 2014; specimens photographed at St. KVG2 ( Nusa Island , northwest of Kavieng , Kavieng District ) by Serge Andréfouët on 11 Aug. 2014; a video of a specimen taken at Martha's Shoal, off eastern New Hanover , at 7–41 m depth, St. KR 122, in 2014 (identified by Barry C. Russell).

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1, 2.—General distribution: Red Sea, East and South Africa east to Hawaiian and Line islands and Pitcairn Group, north to southern Japan, south to northern Australia, Lord Howe and Norfolk islands and Rapa. Found on sand adjacent to coral or rocky reefs, 1–35 m depth. Marine.
