Status at New Ireland. First recorded from New Ireland by Allen & Erdmann (2012: 590); a specimen observed at Limmelon Island, Kavieng District, 1–14m depth, St. T 3, on 30 Oct. 2006, by Gerald R. Allen.

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: Eastern Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands. Found in lagoons and sheltered seaward coral reefs, 3–20 m depth. Marine.
