Scarus forsteni (Bleeker 1861) View in CoL —Whitespot parrotfish

Status at New Ireland. New record, based on specimens photographed on 2 June 2013, second dive, during ACIAR Aquarium Survey at Kavieng; a video of a specimen taken off southern New Hanover at 3–47 m depth, St. KR 106, in 2014 (identified by Barry C. Russell).

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1, 2.—General distribution: Eastern Indonesia east to Caroline Islands and Pitcairn Group, north to Ryukyu and Ogasawara islands, south to northern Australia and New Caledonia. Found in lagoon and seaward coral reefs, 2–30 m depth. Marine.
