Uranoscopus oligolepis Bleeker 1878 —Drab nakednake stargazer

Status at New Ireland. New record, based on NTUM 11224 (2 specimens, 35.3–39.8 mm SL, St. CP 4457-09-10, northeast of Bangatang Island), NTUM 11276 (1 specimen, 32.3 mm SL, St. DW 4474-8, southeast of Bauddisson Island ), and NTUM 11320 (1 specimen, 38.4 mm SL, St. CP 4490-21, off northwest side of New Hanover).

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1, 2.—General distribution: Saya de Malha Bank (western Indian Ocean) east to Papua New Guinea, north to Taiwan, south to New Caledonia. Sand and rubble bottoms, 50–150 m depth. Marine.
