Status at New Ireland. New record, based on NTUM 11027 (1 specimen, 69.8 mm SL, St. CP 4499-16, northwest of New Hanover), and NTUM 11369 (1 specimen, 68.8 mm SL, St. CP 4502-5, 6.7 km northwest of Kavieng). Other   GoogleMaps material: NTUM 11013 (1 specimen, 87.6 mm SL, St. CP 4277-8, Papua New Guinea, off northwestern Bougainville Island   GoogleMaps , 05°44.27’S 154°03.55’E– 05°43.75’S 149°02.55’E, 386–390 m depth, R/ V Alis, 28 Apr. 2014).

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1, 2.—General distribution: eastern Indonesia east to Bougainville ( Papua New Guinea), north to South China Sea. Found on soft bottoms of the continental slope, 218–480 m depth. Marine.

Remarks. The above mentioned specimen from off Bougainville represents the most eastward record of this species, while the Woodlark Island specimen represents the southernmost record. Several additional specimens (not listed above) were collected around northern New Ireland.
